Defeat the mites!
What is the mite?
Mites are one of the most annoying small, arthropod pests of orchards and ornamental gardens. They can be found in vineyards, on fruit trees, evergreens (for example thujas) but also in floral ornamental plants. The best way of defense against them is the application of acaricides. Such acaricide is the hungarian-developed Flumite 200, which is one of the most environmentally friendly in the market. Flumite 200 acaricide interrupts the life cycle of mites. It's effective against a broad spectrum of phytophagous mites, like spider mites(Tetranychidae), gall mites (Eriophyidae) flat mites (Tarsonemidae) and many other mite pests, while it is harmless to beneficial arthropods, such as bees or predatory mites.
Mites are generally very small creatures, (less than 1mm) therefore they’re usually hard to observe for a long time. Although there are many species and the visual symptoms can be very different, it is not so difficult to recognize the damage they have caused.
So how could we recognize it?
The infected plants often have small blisters, sometimes they are yellowed, faded, or covered with colorless patches, spots or thin webs. In a more serious case, the leaf of the plant fades, then curls up and falls down. Reddish or rusty tiny spots may refer to mites as well. The mite population can grow very quickly, and if they are present in great numbers, then they can destroy the entire plant and then move on to the next one. On Mediterranean plants such as thuyas and cypresses, brown patches may appear on the foliage, which can also be a sign of mite infection. It is even harder to notice them on these parts of the plants.
On what kind of plants we may use the Flumite 200 acaricide?
On apples, pears, stone-fruits (peaches, nectarines, plums, walnuts), grapes, gooseberries, red and black currants, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, black elderberry, tomatoes and peppers, evergreens, ornamental trees, all kinds of tree seedlings, hybrid corn, soybeans.
How to use it against mites?
The use of Flumite 200 in small gardens is simple. When we notice the signs of mite infestation (by identifying their symptoms or the mites themselves) on the plant, buy a box of Flumite 200 acaricides in the horticultural stores and other usual places of purchase. The box contains 5 ampoules of 5 ml. One ampoule should be dissolved in 10 liters of water and sprayed onto the infected plants. It is best to do this work preventively, when we can see only a few mites on the leaves, to avoid an outbreak.
What are the benefits of the Flumite 200 acaricide?
A unique mode of action; mites exposed to the spray will not be able to grow or proliferate.
Flumite 200 destroys all the immature life stages of mites.
It also reaches the mites on the lower side of the leaf.
It has a long lasting effect: 40-60 days.
Flumite 200 is equally effective against, leaf-, gall-, and spider mites.
It can be used from spring to autumn.
Flumite destroys only the phytophagous mites, but spares the predatory mites and other beneficial arthropods.
Environmmentally friendly classification; may be used in integrated plant protection technologies.
